The Social Workers Registration Board (the Board) is seeking to engage experienced Professional Consultants on a project basis to support the qualification recognition assessment and review of social work programmes, in accordance with the Principles, Criteria and Standards for Recognising Qualifications in Social Work.
Requirements
- A recognised bachelor’s degree, a degree in social work or a master’s degree is an advantage.
- At least 10 years of professional experience, preferably in quality assurance, qualification accreditation, or tertiary-level course administration.
- A good understanding on accreditation standards, rules and regulations of accreditation authorities and professional bodies.
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and to lead negotiations with academic or professional personnel on accreditation or academic matters.
- Good computer literacy.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Board and its delegate, the Professional Consultant will support assessment teams appointed by the Board. Key responsibilities include liaison with representatives of tertiary institutions, in-depth review of submission documents, logistics for and participation at meetings and site visits, also drafting assessment reports and presenting findings to the relevant committee.
The appointed Professional Consultants are expected to each take up one to two assignments usually in winter or spring. They need not to work from the Board’s office. Remuneration will be competitive and commensurate with the number of qualifications reviewed in each project.
