Notes:

1. The list of recognized qualifications is compiled by the Social Workers Registration Board based on the best information available at the time of compilation.
   
   
2. The list is compiled for general information and reference only without prejudice to the exercise by the Registration Board of any of its powers and functions in assessing individual social work qualification/training programme. The Board reserves the right to revise the list of accredited qualifications (includes making new additions and deletions) as appropriate.
   
   
3. A social work degree awarded in Canada that is accredited by the Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE) (formerly known as Canadian Association of Schools of Social Work (CASSW)) is, in principle, recognized by the Social Workers Registration Board for registration.  The Board, however, will consider on an individual basis an application for registration filed by a holder of a social work degree that is led by a distance education programme or an off-shore programme, notwithstanding that it is accredited by the CASWE.
   
   
4. As the CASWE may from time to time review its accreditation criteria and revise its list of recognized qualifications, those who intend to pursue social work studies in Canada should assume personal responsibilities to verify with CASWE whether the social work qualification to be pursued would be accredited at the year of graduation.
